New Delhi [India], February 08: The stars aligned at the school ground of Delhi Public School, RK Puram. DPS RK Puram in collaboration with the SPACE India, hosted the World’s Largest Planet Parade Event. Over 800 participants, including 750 enthusiastic students and 60 Astronomy Club members, came together for an unforgettable celestial experience that set a new standard for school-level astronomical events.

The event, graced by Principal Mr. Anil Kumar, transformed the school grounds into a hub of astronomical discovery. An impressive setup of 14 advanced telescopes allowed participants to explore the wonders of the night sky under the guidance of ~70 specially trained volunteers and ~50 teachers, whose meticulous preparation ensured the event’s smooth execution. Students and attendees marvelled as they successfully located Venus, the Moon, Jupiter, Mars, and even Saturn. A special highlight of the evening was the live feed of the Shiv Shakti Point near the Moon’s south pole, offering a glimpse into India’s space exploration legacy and its proud achievements.

“This initiative marks a historic milestone for both SPACE India and DPS RK Puram,” said a SPACE India representative. “Bringing such an immersive and unprecedented astronomical experience to students reflects a shared commitment to fostering curiosity and inspiring the next generation of space enthusiasts.”

Principal Mr. Anil Kumar echoed the sentiment: “This event stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation. Our students, teachers, and the SPACE India team have together created a truly remarkable experience that will leave a lasting impact.”

The success of this initiative was driven by a robust training program for teachers and volunteers, ensuring that every aspect – from telescope handling to event management – was executed flawlessly. For many participants, this was their first opportunity to explore the universe up close, making it a transformative and inspirational evening.

The Planet Parade Event exemplifies SPACE India’s mission to make astronomy accessible and engaging for students across the nation. This groundbreaking collaboration with DPS RK Puram has set a high bar, inspiring schools and educators to dream big and reach for the stars.
