Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 29: In a progressive initiative, the Maharashtra government is poised to inaugurate Anand Gurukul schools, boarding institutions tailored to cultivate specialised expertise among students. Out of the eight schools slated for establishment, a dedicated Anand Gurukul School focusing on finance education will be situated in Mumbai, with operations commencing in June 2026.
These exciting new schools will allow students to dive deep into specialized fields such as sports, culture, science, technology, and financial services. Starting with a capacity for 200 students, the Anand Gurukul model aims to nurture discipline, focus, and clarity from a young age, helping students stay aligned with industry standards.
Admission into these educational institutions will be contingent upon a competitive entrance examination, which evaluates the aptitude of each student for the selected course.
In Mumbai, four BMC schools are slated to be transformed into residential campuses dedicated to education in financial services by the government. This prudent repurposing of infrastructure exemplifies the state’s commitment to efficient and sustainable development.
The Anand Gurukul program beautifully aligns with Maharashtra’s broader vision of fostering professional excellence from an early stage. By blending industry-relevant skills with their regular studies, students will feel more confident and ready to step into leadership roles in the future, particularly in finance, which is a pivotal sector for India’s economic development.
This step also showcases Maharashtra’s confidence in the power of specialised education systems to nurture stability, enhance professional skills, and shape the citizens of tomorrow. With Mumbai on the verge of welcoming its very first financial services residential school, it shines as a wonderful example for school systems all over the country. Furthermore, CM Devendra Fadnavis, signed an MoU with Education Department, taking amazing strides for the kids of Maharashtra.
