    Sarvajanik University SCCCA Professor Completes ‘Official Statistics’ Training at NSSTA

    Surat: Dr. Banti K Shah , Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at Sarvajanik College of Commerce and Computer Applications (SCCCA) has successfully completed Official Statistics Exposure Training Programme held at the NSSTA .

    Dr. Banti K Shah stated that the knowledge gained from this training will be helpful in future teaching work, curriculum enrichment, and research activities.

    The training programme was organized by the National Statistical Systems Training Academy under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India.

    Dr. Banti K Shah, Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at the Sarvajanik University–affiliated Sarvajanik College of Commerce and Computer Applications (SCCCA), Surat, has successfully completed a one-week Official Statistics Exposure Training Programme held at the National Statistical Systems Training Academy (NSSTA), Greater Noida.

    The training programme was organized by the National Statistical Systems Training Academy under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India, from December 15 to December 20. The main aim of the programme was to provide university and college faculty members with a clear understanding of India’s official statistical system, data sources, and their use in teaching and research.

    During the training, participants were guided on the structure of the Indian statistical system, national accounts system, price statistics, census and demographic indicators, National Sample Survey and National Family Health Survey, administrative and alternative data sources, as well as digital platforms such as e-Statistics and microdata portals.

    Sessions conducted by expert officers from various departments of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation made the training highly practical and informative.

    Dr. Banti K Shah stated that the knowledge gained from this training will be helpful in future teaching work, curriculum enrichment, and research activities. He also added that it will encourage students to explore research and career opportunities related to official statistics.

    After completing the training, Dr. Shah submitted the training completion certificate, attendance certificate, and training report to the In-charge Principal of Sarvajanik College of Commerce and Computer Applications, and requested that the same be forwarded to the Sarvajanik University for official records.
