Surat. GD Goenka International School, a completely smart premium school dedicated to imparting holistic education, successfully organized a language development workshop for parents of pre-primary section by the school. The purpose of the workshop was to sensitize parents about the importance of language development in early childhood and equip them with effective strategies to promote their child’s language skills.
The event received an overwhelming response, with more than 150 parents attending the workshop and showing keen interest in their child’s educational journey. The workshop was carefully designed to provide parents with a comprehensive understanding of language and numeracy development, enabling them to support their child’s growth and development.
The session began with a warm welcome by the Director Principal – Mrs. Jayashree Choraria, who emphasized the importance of language development in the early years of a child for both Hindi and English. “Language is the foundation of communication and it is essential to nurture this skill in our young learners. As a school we recognize the importance of parental interest in a child’s educational journey and this workshop is a step towards strengthening our partnership.
The workshop was conducted by our respected faculty members, Ms. Ankita Mulia, Ms. Shreya Narang and Ms. Rinki Singh and Ms. Done by Anjali Khambati, who is an expert in early childhood education and related subjects. The session was divided into interactive modules, which included presentations, discussions and hands-on activities.
The workshop began with creating a language-rich environment. Parents were enlightened about the importance of creating an environment that encourages language development. He was also given practical tips.
This was followed by a discussion on encouraging effective communication emphasizing the importance of active listening and responding. Building vocabulary and sentence structure was also a focus and technique for improving language skills. The workshop began with the use of stories and games to develop language skills. It showcases innovative methods to make language learning fun and engaging.
The workshop was designed keeping in mind the needs of the children. The entire workshop was scrutinized by the Managing Principal and implemented incorporating his suggestions.
