Ahmedabad: In Gujarat, Ahmedabad where students from Classes 1 to 8 have not yet received their textbooks for the new academic session. Even though the school year has already begun, textbooks remain incomplete, causing significant inconvenience and frustration for students, parents, and school authorities.

Parents are reportedly having to visit schools and shops repeatedly in search of books, only to return empty-handed. This shortage is particularly evident in government schools, creating a chaotic situation where students are unable to follow their syllabus properly. Teachers are also facing difficulty in conducting lessons without the essential learning material. Many of the schools have only received partial sets of books, and in some cases, not even that.

Despite repeated complaints from school administrations and parents, the government has yet to take effective action to resolve the delay. The situation is more severe in rural and remote areas where logistical challenges worsen the supply problem. The lack of timely textbook availability is not only disrupting classroom learning but also demoralizing for students who are eager to begin their studies. Parents have urged the government to act swiftly to ensure the availability of the required textbooks and prevent further disruption to the academic progress of thousands of children.
