White Lotus International School celebrated the vibrant festival of Navratri with great enthusiasm on Thursday, 10th October 2024. Students adorned in colorful, traditional ethnic attire added energy and joy to the festive atmosphere, creating a lively and heartwarming event.
Navratri, a major cultural festival, signifies the triumph of good over evil and honors the Goddess Durga in her various forms, symbolizing strength, courage, and protection. It also represents the victory of righteousness, positivity, and virtue over darkness and negativity. The school’s celebration embodied these values, promoting unity and joy as students and faculty came together to embrace the festive spirit.
As part of the celebrations, students performed Raas Garba, a traditional dance that pays homage to the Goddess Durga.

    1. Garba: This circular dance represents the cycle of life, revolving around the eternal energy of the Goddess. Often danced around a lamp symbolizing the feminine divine power, or Shakti, it celebrates the nurturing and creative force that sustains the universe.
    2. Raas: A lively, energetic folk dance, Raas has its roots in the stories of Lord Krishna, who danced with the Gopis. Performed with sticks, or dandiya, it embodies joy, harmony, and a playful expression of devotion.
Together, Raas and Garba during Navratri serve not only as acts of worship but also as a way to bring people together, fostering unity, joy, and a deep spiritual connection. These dances beautifully reflect the festival’s core message of the ultimate victory of good over evil.
