Surat: The Education Department in Surat has announced that non-government aided secondary and higher secondary schools seeking to expand their academic offerings from Class 9 through Class 12 must submit their online applications by July 15, 2025. This will include requests to add classes 9 and 10, an Application to start the first consecutive class of Standard 11, Approval for Standard 2 as a continuation of Class 11, and Proposals to start additional divisions or streams in Classes 11 and 12.
The District Education Officer has been instructed to conduct site inspections of all schools that apply and to submit verified applications online to the Office of the Commissioner of Schools by July 25, 2025.
To ensure timely action, the Education Department has directed that this information be displayed on the notice boards of all district offices. Additionally, school principals and administrators must be informed through official circulars to avoid any delays or miscommunications.
This move aims to streamline academic expansion, improve access to higher secondary education, and enhance transparency and coordination between schools and authorities.
