G.D. Goenka International School, Surat in collaboration with Mr. Akash Bansal, Founder of Project Surat, and his dedicated team of volunteers, successfully conducted a Community Service Cleanliness Drive at Dumas Beach along with the students of Clas IV on 15-02-2025.

This initiative aimed to promote environmental responsibility by achieving Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 3- Good Health and Well Being, Goal 6- Clear water and sanitation, Goal 13: Climate Action, Goal 14: Life Below Water and Goal 15: Life on Land.

With great enthusiasm, students actively participated in cleaning the beach, picking up trash and removing plastic waste that pollutes the shoreline. Equipped with gloves, mask and garbage bags, they worked alongside volunteers, ensuring that the beach was left cleaner and more beautiful. This also inspired students to adopt eco-friendly habits and encourage others to do the same.

Mr. Akash Bansal guided the students, sharing valuable insights on sustainable waste management, the harmful effects of plastic pollution, and the importance of keeping public spaces clean.

The community service drive could make a visible impact under the guidance of our Chief Mentor Mr. Manharbhai Kakadia, Director Principal Mrs. Jayshree Choraria and Section Coordinator Ms. Shilpa Surya and Assistant Coordinator Ms. Saniya Shaikh.
