‘Investiture Ceremony’ was organized in the G. D. Goenka International School, Surat. The ceremony was held to announce the Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy, Deputy Head Girl, different House Captains and Deputy Captains.
The investiture ceremony is a time-honored tradition that signifies the transfer of authority and responsibility from one generation of leaders to the next. Leaders are the ones who exhibit qualities of being responsible and leading the team. It is expected that student council selected, will create a new system, sustain the goodness of old system and destroy the flaws if any in the existing system. Being a council member helps them to realize their strengths and weakness by which they can be confident.
Director Principal Mrs. Jayshree Choraria, Director-Operations Ms. Sejal Thakkar, Administrator Mr Ajay singh along with the coordinators and assistant coordinator of the different sections conferred the badge and the sash to the student council members and the prefects, so as to mark the beginning of their journey towards responsibility and duty.
These badges conferred to the students is an opportunity for them to learn the art of team work under the guidance of able and competent teachers. It helps the students to act as role models among students and to give the right guidance and take right decisions at various juncture.
Mere managing the discipline is not the only duty which the selected students have to perform, they need to scratch their brains to manage various events in school like assembly, festival programs, cultural programmes, school day celebration and the farewell parties. Organizing these programs including large number of students and ensuring that discipline goes hand in hand with the enthralling moments; requires great planning and understanding of human mind set and that is what is expected out of these student council members.
