Cultural events and carnival to take place on February 19 and 20 before the convocation on February 21
Surat: Dr Pankaj Joshi, a distinguished astrophysicist and cosmologist of India, will be the chief guest at the upcoming convocation ceremony of Sarvajanik University, a leading university in South Gujarat. The convocation will take place at the university campus at 5:30 pm on February 21. Before this, cultural and carnival events will take place on February 19 and 20.
The University’s President Bharat Shah said that 1,318 students from 37 different undergraduate, postgraduate and postgraduate diploma courses will be awarded degrees at this year’s convocation. Dr. Faruk Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of KP Group, a leading player in the renewable energy space, and noted philanthropist and entrepreneur Rajan Shah will be the special guests on the occasion.
Special guests at the event will include Dr. Faruk Patel, Chairman and Managing Director of the renowned K.P. Group of Companies, a leader in the field of non-conventional energy, and Mr. Rajen Shah, a well-known philanthropist and emprise voyager.
The cultural and carnival events of February 19 and 20 are witnessing the participation of over 8,000 students from eight affiliated colleges of the university. A key highlight of the event will be the SUMUN activity, where students will present a Model United Nation conference. Engineering students from across India will engage in debates on global issues and also propose solutions.
