Surat, August 19: Tapti Valley International School organised a thought-provoking and impactful nukkad natak (street play) at V. R. Mall, Surat, performed by students of Classes 6 and 7 on the theme “One Nation, One Mission – End Plastic Pollution.”

The performance was not only engaging but also left a lasting impression, conveying a strong message of social awareness. Through this street play, the students highlighted their commitment to the Prime Minister’s vision of making India free from single-use plastics by the end of 2025.

Using powerful dialogues, emotional scenes, and convincing performances, the students portrayed the harmful effects of plastic on the environment, human health, and our planet’s future. The play also emphasised real-life situations, society’s role, and practical solutions in simple, relatable language.

    The students urged everyone to:
    Minimise the use of plastic,
Adopt practices of reuse and recycling,
Switch to cloth or jute bags for daily use, and
    Spread awareness in society.

This performance was not only inspiring but also carried a strong message for the younger generation to protect the environment.

The school’s initiative aligns with the Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), demonstrating that meaningful change can begin in schools.

The presence of parents, teachers, and respected members of the community further enhanced the significance of the program. The audience applauded the enthusiasm, creativity, and sense of responsibility shown by the students.

Tapti Valley International School once again showcased that “One Nation – One Mission: Plastic-Free India” is not just a slogan, but a movement that can come alive through the voices of children.
