Surat: In a significant achievement for Surat, more than 3,000 students from the city have secured their place in the Chief Minister Gyan Sadhana Merit Scholarship Scheme. This scheme was launched by the state government, and they aim to provide academic and financial support to bright students by awarding them scholarships based on their merit. Out of a total of 19,200 students who appeared for the Gyan Sadhana Merit Exam across Gujarat, only 3,021 students from Surat were successful in getting selected in the merit list.
These students will now be eligible for scholarships under the scheme and will be given admission into the Gyan Sadhana Residential Schools, where they will be offered free quality education, hostel facilities, food, and other academic benefits. The students selected under this scheme majorly belong to primary schools managed by the Surat Municipal Corporation. Specifically, students from 11 schools in Surat were included in the merit list, out of which 8 are schools governed by the Municipal Education Committee. These results reflect the hard work of the students and the commitment of their teachers and school authorities.
To honor this success, a special meeting was conducted by the Surat Municipal Education Committee, where the efforts and academic excellence of these students were appreciated. During this event, the students who made it to the merit list were congratulated and encouraged for their future journey.
Overall, this selection not only boosts the morale of students but also encourages them for their future journey, and the scholarship also strengthens the purpose of the state government’s scholarship initiatives, which is to uplift talented children from all sections of society by providing them with better learning opportunities. Students will now receive the scholarship and admission support in top knowledge-based residential and tribal residential schools.
