Ahmedabad: Regarding the Vadodara deer boat incident, the state government has formulated new guidelines for educational travel, due to the safety concerns during the school tours.
Every school tour must now include two police officers and one female police constable to ensure the safety and security of students. This decision has been implemented in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Safe India mission and is part of Gujarat’s enhanced school safety policy under the 2024 guidelines.
The Education Department, along with the police authorities, has issued instructions for immediate implementation. The government believes that this initiative will not only enhance student safety but also provide parents and schools with confidence and peace of mind when organising educational tours for their students.
The presence of police personnel is expected to prevent potential incidents and allow swift action in emergencies. The Education Department has also communicated this policy to all school administrators and asked them to coordinate with local police stations when planning tours.
